Ja’bari Gray was born without skin, and now, the baby boy is fighting for his
life.His mother, Priscilla Maldonado, was rushed into an emergency C-section in
Houston to deliver Ja’bari, who only weighed three pounds at birth on January 1
A doctor tentatively diagnosed him with epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic connective tissue disorder that leaves skin subject to blisters and tears.
Maldonado has only been able to hold her son twice. “The skin disorder he has is so very rare that no [doctor] has ever seen it before and is very hard to treat,” Maldonado said.
His mother has since started a GoFundMe account to help pay for unexpected medical costs.
“Each and every day is a blessing that he is still fighting to live on this earth, and donation big or small will be such a blessing to us.”
