Report From Eternals Line-up Announced As Marvel Confirms Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek And Richard Madden

Angelina Jolie will be joined by the likes of Salma Hayek and Richard Madden in the anticipated Eternals film as Marvel announced its post-Avengers world at Comic-Con this weekend. Head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige took to Hall H to bring in the next round of actors who will be bringing the Marvel story to life in a prequel to the Avengers, and it’s pretty impressive if we do say so ourselves.

‘I’m so excited to be here! I think what it means to be a part of the MCU, what it means to be an Eternal, what it means to be in this family,’ she said. 




At Marvel’s ongoing Hall H panel today, Kevin introduced director Chloe Zhao as they proceeded to welcome the new batch of MCU punters. The story follows an ancient yet genetically-engineered species of humanity, the Eternals, which were created by the Celestials (that, remember, created the Infinity/Soul Stones), as they bid to protect the human race. According to JustJared, Angelina addressed the besotted crowd and told of her excitement to be joining the ranks.

The film, set a million years ago, apparently, is said to be going into production here in London next fall, and will follow on from Avengers 4, filling in the gaps in the universe before it all went down – but that’s really all we know so far. Earlier this year Kevin teased the project, but remained pretty tight lipped on what it would all be about. During a Q&A back in November, he did compare the film to Guardians of the Galaxy, which didn’t have much hype before hitting screens and, as we now know, became a runaway success.

The mother-of-six added: ‘We’ve all read the script and we know what the task is and so we are going to work very, very hard.’ It comes after much chatter about her rumoured role in the flick, with Bodyguard’s Richard also tipped to take a leading spot in the line-up.

‘[I can say] very little when it comes to Eternals, but I will say your reaction about not being familiar with The Eternals is perfect because most people weren’t familiar with Guardians and believe it or not there were people who were not familiar with Avengers or with Iron Man,’ he told Bionic Buzz. He added: ‘So for us, it’s finding great stories whether people have heard of them or not and bring them to the big screen in as an amazing way as we can.’

In a nod to the comic’s creator, Kevin said the Eternals would be ‘full on Jack Kirby’, which is sure to delight fans of the writer, who also devised the likes of Captain America.
